As the second largest of the Hawaiian Islands, Maui encompasses a striking spectrum of landscapes and experiences. This is a land of remarkable contrasts: lush rainforests and moon-like mountaintops. Glittering beach resorts and rustic Upcountry cowboy ranches. Five-star restaurants and roadside farm stands along the Hāna Highway. Maui is divided into five distinct regions, each showcasing a unique and unforgettable side of the Magic Isle.
Our island offers some of the most diverse adventures and opportunities in such a confined region. Boasting 6 of the 12 climate zones of the world, there’s no lack of exciting things to do here whether you’re visiting or planning a move. Here are some things we recommend.
Haleakala - Home of the Sun
The summit of Haleakalā stands at 10,023 feet above sea level. That’s not including the massive 19,680 feet of mountain below sea level. The makes Haleakalā technically taller than Mount Everest at 29,029 ft. Combined, Haleakalā stretches 29,704 ft from its base on the ocean floor to its sky-high summit.
With views like that, we suggest going to either watch the sun rise or sunset.
Sunrise requires a reservation and can be made here
Sunset is open to all, but parking can fill up quick.
O'o Farms Tour
Here at O’o Farm that you can enjoy the cool upcountry climate and panoramic bi-coastal views of the island. Enrich your soul with a connection to the land as you sit down to a gourmet lunch prepared with fresh natural products.

Black Sand Beach - Wainapanapa State Park
On the road to hana theres a gem of a beach where the whole family can have fun. Waianapanapa State Park is home to more than just Maui's famous black sand beach (also called Honokalani). While you're there, you'll find a hike and unique geologic formations like a blowhole, sea arch, and a lava cave. For the more adventurous, theres a rock called bunny ears that is about a 40” jump into open ocean (only safe during summer). Check it out here. For details that help plan your day to visit see Shaka guides to learn more.
Maui Snorkeling
Turtle town and Molokini crater are two of the best spots on maui to snorkel and with this charter you have a half day of total fun. Did I mention this charter has a blow up water slide off the boat! It’s a great experience.
For an awesome sunset tour the Alii Naui has a Royal Sunset Charater.
